We keep almost nothing.

What this website stores

Three small notes, kept only in your own browser:

• Whether you've seen the dial's opening animation, so it doesn't replay every visit.
• The time of day you've chosen for the site's photograph and colours, if you turn the sundial, so it stays the way you set it. Until then it follows your own clock, which never leaves your device.
• Where the dial was pointing, for a moment when you turn it, so the next page can finish the turn. It's gone when you close the tab.

None of them leaves your device, and none identifies you. Clearing your browser's site data removes them.

What we don't do

We don't use cookies, analytics, advertising, social-media widgets or tracking of any kind. The fonts are served from this site, not a third party, so loading a page doesn't tell anyone else you were here.

The fit check

The “Do we fit?” check on the Start a Project page runs entirely in your browser. Your answers aren't sent to us or anyone else. It ends in a work-order slip you can print, or send to us through the contact form if you choose to; nothing is sent unless you press Send.

If you write to us

The contact form sends us your name, your email address and your message, and nothing else. It's delivered to our inbox through Cloudflare's email service and isn't stored on the website. We use it to reply and, if we work together, to do the work. We don't sell it or share it, and we keep it only as long as the conversation, the work or our records need.

Letters

If you sign up for letters, we keep your email address and how often you chose (each new post, monthly or quarterly), stored with Cloudflare, who host this site. It's used only to send you those letters, and is never sold, rented or shared. Every letter has an unsubscribe link that removes your address as soon as you confirm, and you can ask us to remove it any time.

How the site is delivered

This site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web server, it handles technical details of each visit, such as your IP address, browser and the page requested, to deliver the page and protect the site from abuse. We don't use that to track you.

Sites we host for clients

If you visit a site we host for a client, that client decides what it collects, and their own privacy notice applies. We handle any data on their behalf only as our agreement with them allows, and hold ourselves to the Standard's commitment to privacy and consent.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to us and we'll answer plainly.

Children

This site isn't aimed at children and we don't knowingly collect anything from them.

Changes

If what we collect ever changes, this page changes first, with the date at the top.
