About

One person. The whole of the foundry.

I’m John Fromel. I own Neuronic Foundry, and for now I am all of it. It builds websites, and it isn’t open yet.

It started as practice

I needed to redo my own site, and built a few others first to get my hands in: Dharmalekha, then Meaning · Beauty · Truth · Community, then Independence 2026. It turned out I have a knack for this, and I genuinely enjoy it. The first site I’ve made for someone else, a Buddhist monastery in Portugal, goes live soon.

Where I come from

I’m a designer and a maker before I’m a web person. I run Fromel Electronics, modifying guitar amplifiers. I’ve designed parts in Fusion 360 for more than a decade and print many of them myself. I photograph at Light Not Light, and I write, mostly about practice and meaning. What those share is the habit of making a thing properly and standing behind it.

How the work is made

The name says it: silicon minds, one human hand. I build with AI. Claude writes most of the code and the first drafts; GPT helps with pictures and checks the work. They’re fast, tireless and sometimes wrong.

I decide what gets built and review every word before it goes anywhere. The models are the tools; I’m the one you hold to account. You should know how the thing you’d be paying for is made, so I tell you up front.

Why it isn’t open yet

The book of work is small, and I want every piece in the window to stand beside the best studios’ work. When the first ones are ready, the doors open. Leave your address and you’ll hear the day it happens.

The one rule

The Foundry only takes work that meets the Standard, whatever the fee: honest by design, no harm as the business model, truthful speech. Small studios can’t afford to turn work down, which is exactly why this one does.
